Y’all are keen beans – all three of January’s Intro to Fitness & Training workshops were booked out! So, we’ve got a smorgasbord of training options lined up for February… and the best bit is, they’re all FREE for Uprising members.
To kick things off, Hugo is running another series of Intro to Fitness & Training workshops for anyone wanting guidance in the effective usage of the Uprising fitness area for optimal climbing sessions and overall health and fitness, plus a new Warming Up workshop. Lee from ATP Coaching and Performance is also back with his most popular workshops, focusing on Shoulder Health – a must-do for not just climbers, but anyone with an active lifestyle – and how to move Beyond V6.
Warming-up – Wednesday 4th February | 6:00pm – 7:15pm >> Book Now
A warm-up is a crucial element for getting the most out of your session, ensuring you can keep exercising for a good time AND a long time.
Join Uprising Coach Hugo as he guides you through an effective warm-up protocol, teaching you the scientific components of a good warm-up, as well as helping you construct your very own warm-up protocol, specific to your goals and needs.
Intro to Fitness & Training – Wednesday 11th, 18th, 25th February | 6:00pm – 7:30pm >> Book Now
These three workshops are for anyone wanting guidance in the effective usage of the Uprising fitness area for optimal climbing sessions and overall health and fitness.
Led by Uprising Coach Hugo, the classes will cover everything from safety, etiquette, how to structure your own workouts, what exercises suit you best, and clear guidance on how to progress on your own. There is no need to attend all three, just the ones you think will suit you best!
The first session is an introduction to gym safety, etiquette, and basic usage of equipment.
The second session guides participants through a workout with various structures, introducing a range of movements and their progressions and regressions.
The third session guides participants through understanding the principles of developing different components of fitness in the gym area. This session will introduce the reasoning behind the number of sets and reps, and time signatures, as well as introduce participants to barbell movements like the back squat and the bench press.
