Kids are great at bouldering! Free from the distractions of ropes and harnesses, bouldering is an ideal way to gain movement skills and confidence.

Blocland provides a perfect environment for kids to try bouldering, with climbs designed for smaller people in a safe area separate from our main gym.

Blocland is $12pp for a one-hour session. Sessions run on the hour from 10am-5pm.

Under-5s will find all the challenges they need in Blocland. Children aged 5-13 are also welcome to explore the bigger climbs in the main bouldering gym. See prices here and supervision ratios below.

Youth Academy

Ages 5 – 16 years.

The Uprising Youth Academy is the perfect term-time programme for young climbers interested in developing base-level skills in bouldering.

Uprising’s experienced climbing coaches will support your child in learning how to boulder, or grow their existing bouldering knowledge by participating in a range of fun exercises, activities and games.

Participants will be introduced to problem-solving techniques and climbing styles while building confidence, strength and balance.

Practical skills covered include: warm-up and cool-down routines, understanding the grading system, balance and coordination development and basic climbing technique and movement.

Our coaches also cover broader bouldering-based topics, like: learning about the different types of climbing holds, bouldering terminology and learning how to route-read.

Our prime objective is to provide a safe, engaging environment to help young climbers with the skills they need to begin, or continue on, their climbing journey. Our coaches will equip the children with awareness of safety rules and hazards to protect themselves when climbing independently.

Limited spaces are available. To enquire about registering your child, please complete this form.
