Ashtanga Day 2025— Saturday Nov 29th

Join us for a full day dedicated to the heart of Ashtanga

Join Amaya and Sally for a journey through breath, movement, sound, and stillness. From Mysore and Led practice in the morning to chanting, pranayama, meditation, and deep rest in the afternoon, this is a chance to immerse yourself in the many layers of yoga.

Nourish body and mind with good company, chai, and simple wholesome food as we explore practice as both discipline and delight.

All classes are free with your Uprising membership* or $24 per class without membership. Booking links and full details for each class can be found below.

Your Ashtanga day schedule:

Mysore – 7am-9am – book now

This class offers a one-on-one experience within a group setting, providing a supportive environment to deepen and personalise your Ashtanga practice at your own pace. Whether you’re focusing on postures, pranayama, or meditation, you can drop in anytime during the session and stay as long as you like.

Led Asana – 9:15am-11am – book now

This longer led Ashtanga Vinyasa class explores more of the Primary Series together. Following a consistent pattern, we’ll begin with warming sun salutations and standing postures, move into grounding seated poses and enlivening backbends, and return to centre with a calming finishing sequence. Variations are offered to suit your body and needs, balancing strength and flexibility to leave you supported, energised, and aligned.

Break for nibbles and Chai – 11-12pm

Chanting – 12pm – 12:30pm – book now

In this session, we’ll explore the opening and closing mantras of traditional Ashtanga practice, along with one or two others that invite calm and connection. Chanting encourages a long, steady exhale and helps a scattered mind become focused and clear. With a simple seated posture and mindful attention to meaning and intent, we’ll experience how sound can bring depth, steadiness, and heart to practice.

Pranayama – 12:45pm – 1:45pm – book now

Sink into subtler states of awareness with a balanced blend of calming and revitalising breath practices. This session of pranayama (the fourth of the eight limbs of Ashtanga Yoga), harmonises the body’s energies and steadies the mind, offering both restoration and renewed clarity.

Meditation – 2pm-3pm – book now

This class explores several yogic meditation techniques that can complement your regular practice or stand alone as a pathway inward. We’ll touch on tantric and chakric-based dharana (concentration) methods, along with simple focus practices to steady attention and expand awareness. An invitation to sit, sense, and settle into the quiet spaces within.

Restore & Closing Circle 3:15pm-4pm – book now

A gentle way to round out and digest the day of yoga. You’ll be guided through restful, supported postures to soothe the body and settle the mind, before closing together with reflection and intention – leaving you grounded, connected, and renewed.

Finish the day with chai and nibbles.
