What could be better than Boulder Pride? Boulder Pride with DOGGOS!
Next Friday 27th March, we’re teaming up with Greyhounds as Pets (GAP) for an adoption night and Pride party – wear the rainbow, come hang out with some “grey-t” hounds (your potential new furry best friend?), while celebrating the LGBTQIA+ rainbow climbing community. Plus, have a crack at the Rainbow Circuit or grab a Boulder Pride t-shirt to raise funds for Qtopia!
5:00pm – Doggos onsite
7:00pm – Bouldering Beginners Social class (and the music starts pumping!)
All night – $20 Pizza & Pint special
All weekend – Rainbow Circuit and limited edition Boulder Pride tees
QTOPIA
Qtopia is an advocacy, social change, and social support service for the whole LGBTQIA+ rainbow community, based in Ōtautahi Christchurch. We have produced a limited run of the OG Boulder Pride t-shirt, with all proceeds from t-shirt sales being donated to Qtopia! These tees feature a high quality front and back screen print designed in-house by Mary Lilliston, and are available from the Uprising Pro-shop now – grab yours ASAP, because once they’re gone, they’re gone…
Make a donation to Qtopia on the night (or purchase a Boulder Pride tee!) to go into the draw to win pizza, drinks, and Uprising entry for two!
RAINBOW CIRCUIT
Can you climb the rainbow? Ted Dawg the greyhound has nominated his favourite climb of each colour around the gym, creating the ultimate Rainbow Circuit! Grab your mates and look for the specially marked climbs over the weekend – the perfect way to explore the gym. Ted (and friends) have chosen climbs that cover a variety of styles and are all beginner friendly.
GREYHOUNDS AS PETS (GAP)
GAP kick off the party with adoption dogs onsite from 5:00pm – 7:30pm. The greyhounds will be split into different zones based on the types of homes they are suitable for (e.g. kids, other dogs, cat trainable). All dogs will be wearing rainbow bandanas and accompanied by GAP volunteers who can fill you in on their unique personalities.
GAP is a registered charity rehoming retired ex-racing greyhounds. With greyhound racing coming to an end in Aotearoa this year, there will soon be 2000 hounds looking for new places to call home! Affectionate, gentle, and intelligent, greyhounds make great pets for most households including those who live in smaller homes. Big on sleep and small on exercise, they live low-maintenance. Come say hi on the night, or click here to learn more about GAP and their adoption process.
